Hydrogen filling stations are being mass-produced across China, Xinhua news agency reported.
According to Liu Yafang, a spokesman for the State Energy Administration of the People’s Republic of China, more than 250 filling stations for hydrogen vehicles have already been created in the country, which is 40% of the total number in the world.
According to the official, China is actively working on developing and implementing hydrogen energy technologies.
In China, authorities are trying to find new ways to produce hydrogen from renewable energy sources, and are also working to reduce the cost of hydrogen production, including using water electrolysis, Liu said.
Experts note that buses and trucks are the most common hydrogen-powered vehicles in China.
Today, there are more than six thousand such cars in the country, 12% of the total number in the world.
